The Linear cutter 55/75 MM is a sterile, single patient use instrument used in open surgical procedures.

The instrument delivers six staggered rows of staples, three on either side of the cut line. The staple height is selectable to accommodate various tissue thicknesses using one cartridge/reload. The selectable staple height feature provides the ability to use one cartridge/reload to form staples with closed staple heights of 1.5 mm, 1.8 mm, or 2.0 mm.

The instrument has a safety lock-out feature that is designed to prevent it from firing if

1) no cartridge/reload is loaded or

2) a used cartridge/reload is loaded.
